Cafe on 28

Great service, friendly staff, and good food. After having a bad experience with a restaurant down the road in Jasper we googled local restaurants. Found Cafe on 28 45 minutes before closing. We called and told him we were 15 minutes away and he didn’t care. He was very helpful and pleasant!

My wife and I were in Whitwell, TN on vacation and this is the first place we chose to eat. When we got to the restaurant, we got excited because the parking lot was full of locals (we knew the food was going to be great when we saw this). It did take a few minutes to get waited on because the restaurant was very busy but the staff was great! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was very nice. Food was great! I had beef liver with onions, fried green tomatoes, fried okra, hash brown casserole, and "The Elvis" milkshake. My wife had a veggie plate and an absolutely delicious hot fudge cake. I definitely recommend Cafe on 28!

Awesome find on a Sunday drive. Stopped for breakfast. Service was friendly and food was served fast. Biscuits were amazing!! Will definitely come back when in the area.

We came to visit our friends, and they brought us to this little gem. My husband got the catfish, and I got the smash burger. Both are very good. Our server was good. The sweet tea is not sweet. Let's say not Georgia sweet. I would definitely go back. Forgot to find out about military discount.

My husband and I were visiting the area for our honeymoon and we were looking for something close by, this is what we found! While I was not impressed by the looks of this place, the food and service were great! Don’t judge a book by its cover! I highly recommend the shrimp appetizer! Absolutely delicious!

Had a horrible experience at Redpoint Inn in Jasper. We called Cafe on 28 as they closed in about 30 mins and we were 15 mins away, the owner told us to come on in and they would still serve us. We show up and he met us as we entered. We sat down and he began to go through what all they served. The daily menu has a lot of options and there is plenty to choose from. The waitress was phenomenal and genuinely took time to answer our questions. She was honest about what she liked and disliked and what we may like based on our questions. I inevitably went with the endless catfish dinner and was I impressed. Hand battered and seasoned well with large pieces of filets. Once my plate came out she went ahead and already had my refill going. All the food was cooked well and you can tell they take pride in what they serve to the patrons.

Fair prices, great service, good food, and large portions. The owner takes pride in this mom 'n pop place and it shows. We were in town from out of state after having to walk out of a place nearby called Red Point Inn due to a horrible experience there. We called here knowing they were about to close but the owner never mentioned it and answered all of our questions. Once we arrived he came and greeted us. The young lady who waited on us was great too. They also offer a ton of variety so there's something for everyone. The loaded Doritos nachos were our favorite. From chicken fingers, pizza, milkshakes, sandwiches, or the daily meat and 3 options - they literally do it ALL. Go check 'em out and thank me later. My only two complaints are that the HVAC leaked on me and that they're not located closer to where I live in Scottsboro AL!!

Such a cool spot with a friendly small town vibe, 5-star service, and a burger that will knock your socks off. I can’t wait to go back to try the rest of their burger lineup!
